The system we needed and could not buy.
Our team has spent 22 years building supporter databases and the systems behind them for UK charities. Giftease was set up in 2019 to bring that work together. Not tidy sample data: real supporter records, real financial years, real HMRC rules, and the history nobody wants to migrate.
That is where Cascade came from. Not a product built for a market, but the system we needed and could not buy. It is built around how Gift Aid work is actually done, not how a specification says it should be.

The founders built ScanStore, sold to Blackbaud in 2005. The same work produced Frametric, a spin-out of Giftease, which builds the technology behind Cascade.
Kevin Robson founded Giftease and leads it. He has spent 22 years building supporter databases and the systems behind them in the UK charity sector, and built the technology that makes Gift Aid understandable: Cascade, Foundry and everything underneath them.
Kevin on LinkedInPhil Robson, Director of Client Services, has specialised in Gift Aid since 2000. In that time she has run Gift Aid workshops and masterclasses for charity teams, advised charities as a consultant, stepped in as interim Gift Aid lead when they needed one, and been invited to speak on Gift Aid across the sector. She has been involved in more than 20 HMRC Gift Aid audits, so she knows what it is to be the person who has to stand behind every claim.
